Rob Dollars used to be a lawyer, but he got better.
Rob is the Culture & Career Development Manager for Breckenridge Grand Vacations (BGV), a developer of luxury resorts in Breckenridge, Colorado. Since joining BGV in 2014, Rob has redesigned the company’s orientation program, developed a curriculum for company leaders, helped revamp the BGV leadership coaching plan, and contributed to BGV’s annual Leadership Summit. In 2018, BGV was recognized by the Denver Post and Energage as the #1 top large workplace in Colorado. Rob is energized by supporting BGV’s nearly 600 employees and championing its uniquely positive culture.
Originally from the Midwest, Rob is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Texas Plan II liberal arts honors program. Rob earned his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law and practiced insurance defense litigation in Austin until 2009. He was among the first group of lawyers to achieve board certification in Texas workers’ compensation law. Rob left Texas due to legal trouble. Specifically, after more than 20 years as a litigator, he was having trouble remembering why he wanted to be a lawyer.
Since moving to Colorado, Rob has been a small-business owner, a guide for historic saloon tours and snowshoe hikes, and a Whole Foods Market team member. His wife Tracy is the Development Coordinator for The Summit Foundation. Rob and Tracy live in Breckenridge with Macy, an energetic 3-year-old shelter rescue dog, and Emma, a slightly less energetic 16-year-old cat. Rob volunteers with the Breck Tourism Office and Breckenridge Heritage Alliance. Connect with Rob Dollars on LinkedIn. Yes, that’s his real name. He got off easy. His father was Bill Dollars.
